Whitney Daugette
Whitney Daugette received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Alabama in International Studies and French. While in college, she enjoyed her work helping Freshmen adjust to community living and college. She grew to develop a deeper sense of human nature and belonging while obtaining her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. During her internship and after graduation, Whitney worked to preserve families and keep children safe through the local child welfare agency. Once married, she and her husband worked as a houseparent at a group home. Together they parented 35 children in this capacity coming to understand and love each one. She concurrently worked with an intensive trauma group to help participants grow and heal through exploring their stories.
Whitney is passionate about helping families, children, individuals, and couples flourish in the face of adversity. She has received extensive training in Adlerian Play Therapy. She is also trained in parenting from a Trust-Based Relational Interventions perspective and is level two trained in the Gottman Method.
In 2017, Whitney opened her private practice and continues enjoying bringing couples and families closer together. She and her husband are still foster parents. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, biking, exploring, playing games and spending time with her family.
